Meet Ben: The Guy Who Went From Dreading Presentations to Actually Craving Them
The Humiliation That Changed Everything
Picture this: You're 19, you've aced every written exam to get into France's top 5 business schools. You're basically a genius on paper. Then comes the oral exam...And your brain goes completely blank.
I avoided rehearsing because every practice session was torture. My friends and teachers didn't recognize the confident guy they knew when I had to speak under pressure. When the interviews came, I wasn't just nervous. I was a disaster.
In front of those examiners, my mind was empty except for one thought: "How idiotic am I right now?" One school gave me 0.5 out of 20 points. An examiner literally told his colleague (not so quietly) that he'd just witnessed the worst interview ever.
I qualified for all five top schools... and failed to get into any of them.My charismatic friends went off to their dream universities while I watched every opportunity slip away. I felt betrayed: by my teachers, my parents, the system, for not teaching me how to communicate when it mattered most. That humiliation became my fuel.
When I entered the professional world, I deliberately chose sales. I started doing stand-up comedy. Why? Because I was terrible at both, and I refused to let fear steal another opportunity from me.
"Benjamin craves things people dread" (And No, That's Not a Typo)
Ben used to be the guy who would rather have a root canal than give a presentation. Now? He's the guy who volunteers to present at company meetings and actually enjoys it.
Plot Twist: He's now a professional comedian with TV appearances, which is basically public speaking's evil twin brother. If he can go from presentation-phobic to performing comedy on television, your quarterly review is going to be a walk in the park.
The Business Credentials: Extensive experience in sales (where rejection is a daily occurrence), finance (where you have to explain why the numbers don't lie), and operations (where you have to convince people that your process improvements aren't just fancy ways to make their jobs harder).
Here's the thing about Ben: If you met him today, you'd probably assume he was always naturally good at all these skills. But here's the reality check: each skill was learned, practiced, and mastered over time. None of it was natural talent.
Ok, seriously, who is Ben?
A former corporate leader turned stand-up comedian, Benjamin spent over 20 years in multinational companies across sales, marketing, finance, and operations, navigating boardrooms and high-stakes presentations. Along the way, he discovered his unexpected superpower: he not only mastered the very things most people dread, he learned to crave them. Public speaking, selling: all became sources of energy, not anxiety.
